In this project, you will research famous graphic arts designers or eras.    From your research, you will create a list of favorite artists or ideas.  You will then choose one idea to mimic.   

Step 1:  Research the history of graphic arts and discover a favorite piece of graphic design. Create a document with pictures of works of art that you like and why you like those pieces. You need at least 6 favorites. (5pts)

Step 2:  Choose one piece of historic artwork/ style to mimic or imitate.   Draw 3 thumbnail sketches that use that historic artist's technique.    Then choose one and make a detailed sketch. (5pts)

Step 3:  Show your sketches to the teacher for approval.

Step 4: Insert a picture of your sketch into Illustrator and use it as a reference to help transform your sketch into an Illustrator drawing.   (15pts)

Step 5:  Write a reflection on the process that you went through to create this project.  Write about what you learned, the ups and downs,  rate your work versus the style that you imitated. (5pts)

Submit all parts for a grade.
