Assignment:

You are going to create a grid using two of your initials.  You are going to use your knowledge about different font types to create unique styles.   Together with the art of typography, you will dive into some of the principles of design as you work with contrast and balance.

Step 1: Start by using the 16 by 16 grid template to sketch out ideas for how your initials could be arranged.  You need to complete at least 8 boxes.  ( I recommend doing more)

Step2: Bring your art to life in illustrator using the text tool and other tools you have learned.

The template can be found on the Common drive (Q) > Tfischer>Graphic Arts> Initial Project Template.   Copy it to your M: drive to make it your own.

Or down this file.   Then save it to your M: drive or Creative Cloud folder.

Step 3: Once you have made some progress find someone not in your row or an adjacent computer, to give you some feedback on your artwork.

Step 4:  Make adjustments to your artwork as needed.

Step 5: Save your work as a pdf and a png.

Step 6: Continue onto "What to submit?"
