Directions and Tutorials: Laser Engraving

We are going to use the knowledge of positive and negative space to help us create graphics for the laser.

Assignment:

Your task is 4 fold:

1. Start by researching different types of laser-engraved imagery.  Provide a document with examples of designs that you might like to replicate. 

2.   Create thumbnail sketches for possible engravings to create.   A set of 6 small sketches is required. (You may sketch multiple themes and then choose to design just one of them.) 

3. Create two engravings as vector images in Illustrator. They will be the same image but one will emphasize the positive the other will emphasize the negative.

4. Portfolio - Insert all documentation and imagery into your portfolio.  Reflect on the process.   (5pts)   

5. (Optional) Send the Teacher your Illustrator file If you want the engraving to be created.
