Like all design elements, your choice of fonts and typography has an impact on the meaning of your work. For example, we all know that bold type automatically becomes more prominent, and italic type suggests emphasis - principles like these can be used to great effect when selecting typefaces to convey your meaning.

In the example below, notice how the same set of words can be completely transformed by a different choice of typeface.
